A coworker admits to reading fan-fic (she's been reading Harry Potter f.f. and told me "it's all about Lupin"). I find the idea appealing in some ways, but have never gotten around to reading any. Kirk/Spock fiction sounds interesting in the theoretical--how silly would it be in practice? (This always reminds me of a couple of Star Trek novels I read as a teen. I read a lot of those ST novels then, but these two always stood our for their strange lyricism and homoeroticism.)
